It's a little bit of a hike, but for an indoor range I really like C.I. Shooting Sports in Bloomington. Pay one fee and you can shoot all day. You can even leave (say, for lunch or something) and come back. A couple friends and I meet there every once in awhile because it is centrally located for us and we really like it. Staff is very friendly and pretty knowledgeable from our experience.
As far as outdoor ranges, not super familiar since I usually shoot at my in-laws place weather permitting, and if I really want an outdoor range we have some nice ones pretty close.
Only part I don't like about C.I. is that with the exception of rimfire, rifle ammo has to be bought there, can't use your own that you brought in and theirs isn't cheap. Concerns about steel cores, etc.. Handgun ammo must be at least partially jacketed, so no lead round nose and the like (IIRC rimfire is exempt from this as well though). Only was ever an issue for me with some .38 Special I had, they just said keep it in the range bag and trusted me not to use it rather than make me take it back out the the car like some places might.
