Shooting Sprees: Even You Can Get Famous Today.

So I ask, why do we fuel the fire by placing these jerk-off's on a media pedestal? If we want a functional gun safety law, maybe we should make it illegal for the press to release ANY information on the shooter. That way, their little "legacy" of terror is instantly forgotten.

As much as I dislike the media turning the shooters into instant celebrities, I think that this would be a bad idea. Legislating to the media what they can and cannot report would be a big infringement on the first ammendment. Communist countries or dictatorships are doing this now, and have been for years. We don't like them messing with the second ammendment, we shouldn't be messing with the first ammenment.

These people, if I may be loose with the definition, want success. Of some sort. Really, of any sort.

I think the part that hasn't gotten out yet is that you can half-a__ suicide. They can pump your stomach or send you to the ER and give you 14 units of blood while they patch up your brachial arteries. Once you put a bullet in there, you're changing things permanently. It's no longer, "Oh, he's so artsy, I heard the attempted suicide twice".. it's "John was cool til he blew out his frontal cortex. Now he sits around and craps himself all day."

That's where I draw the line. I don't care if your moral orientation is different than mine, so long as you have some sort of moral orientation. People with none should not have guns, because this is what happens.

The difference between me and an anti is that the anti says, ultimately, we're all like that.
