Shooting while moving

Ok, so this is strange, but paintball type force on force actually is pretty good on this one
just thinking about all the running strings I used to HAVE to shoot in order to move, I know that it's NOT ideal, but it's a hell of a workout and a good way to find out what works for YOU.
I never thought about shooting with footfalls, I was always focused on trying to keep paint where I though the other guy would pop up.
BUT at a range, or dryfire, I probably would do that (time to footfalls) now.

Okay, do you guys run around the kitchen shooting knobs with the blinds open or closed?

Blinds open in my boxer shorts.

Next question. :)

(Actually I prefer my reloading room since there's lots of labels and stuff to aim at.)

Remember to practice moving both directions. In the shooting you reference, the officer who moved toward the buildings was moving toward his weak side and he seemed to have a hard time getting both his hands on the gun while moving

Yeah that one handed stuff still stymies me. I can't shoot worth crap one handed. I've been working on it a little each time I hit the range, but I'm horrible one handed; especially off handed.

It really is the same as your two-handed grip with the support hand missing

The fingers just pull the gun back into the web of your hand...Keep your thumb up. Every now and then, I'll drop my thumb and my shots will go wide...the same thing happens when I squeeze with my fingertips

Strong hand isn't too bad, I'm slower, but I can hit things (if I concentrate, which is different than 2 handed as I can shoot without thinking about it).

My OFF hand.. good grief. I can't keep the sights aligned on target, I can't hit, and the muzzle flip destroys any chance of hitting a second shot quickly.

I once saw a movie put out by the KGB of one of their agents shooting while moving with a Makarov, the first one I had seen in action. He started out in a conventional stance, facing the silhouette target at about 25m. He fired two shots, ran to his left, hit the ground, fired two more shots, rolled under cover of a log, fired two more, rolled to the side, fired two more, dropped the mag and reloaded, then jumped up, fired three covering shots as he ran to his right, dropped again, rolled, fired three more shots, and stood up to fire two more. The group could have been covered with one hand.

Like all those government "how great we are" movies, I am sure he was one of the best they had, not a run-of-mill agent. Still, I'm sure glad I never had to meet that guy under the wrong conditions.

There is a similar area at Camp Pendleton. There is an area with telephone poles on the ground. You fire from the prone position then roll after firing a short burst. What is real fun is when your squad is done shooting your squad moves the poles for the next squad. The last squad moves the poles so it is easy to maintain the grounds.
