ARGHH!

I'm having a tightwads nightmare.

Reorganizing the mancave and I discovered a few rounds (12 =/-) of 45-70 with split case mouths. Being a brass rat I hate to throw away any brass especially some as large as the 45-70.

It looks like I can trim most of them back to about 2"- (rough measurements. maybe a little shorter) to get rid of the split. My question is what is the 2" long 45-70 brass usable for if anything? I only use it in single shot rifles so is there any reason not to reload them and shoot them?

For 12 pieces? Make some drawer and throw the rest away. Any that have cracked are brittle and it's not worth the effort to anneal 12 pieces.
