Shorter LOP stock for 590A1

After alot of BA/UU/R with my Mossberg 590A1 I decided that I need a shorter LOP stock than the factory. What stocks would you recommend that have a shorter LOP than the factory stock for 590A1? Thanks

Have you looked at Hogue ? I don't know if they make one for the Mossberg or not: I use them on my 870s but Hogue seems to be one of the most popular aftermarket shotguns stocks and I would think they make one for the 590.

I have the 12 in LOP stock. It is quite short. You have to be careful you do not get your thumb kicked back into your lip during heavy recoil.

You have to keep you thumb up on the top of the grip.

That is the stock I have on both my 870s.
That was the stock recommended at both formal gun schools I went to for shotgun classes.

IIRC the bantam stock from mossberg has a 13" LOP.

The Houge at 12" is a little too short for me at 5'11" with out armor/bulky jacket. I think the 13" 'bantam' stock would be just right. I can use a 12.5" stock very well with any kind of jacket ect. Just my $ .02

Take the reciol pad off and put on a checkered plastic buttplate.Thats a cheap way of doing it.

Or take the recoil pad off, slice off what you feel is extra, remount the pad and grind off the extra pad height and width.

Check out what CHOATE has to offer they make a adjustable style stock. You can add the right amount of spacers to fit your-self. I don't have their site handy right now but you can look it up on a search engine.

Thanks guys I will look into the hogue stock. And will the bantam stock fit the 590 or will it fit both the 500 and 590?

The bantam stock fits both the 500 and 590.
