I picked up a box of Speer shot capsules for .45 colt to load. They work well, but sure crack easily if slightly overcrimped. Also, a couple in the revolver cracked from recoil.
I read about a method using gas checks, one on top of powder, one on top of shot, at the top of the casing. A heavy roll crimp secures it all.
I'd like to load up a few hundred, but I'm not sure which method to go with, capsules or gas checks. I figured I'd ask to see who here loads either way and why.
I figure neither are going to cycle in my Lightning rifle or my friends 1860 Henry, but they'll be fun in the revolvers for shooting clays.
