Shot in the Head and Lives to Talk Smack

When I was leaving law enfocement we were starting to show a new version of the failure drill (two to the chest, one to the head) where we did two to the chest and one in the pelvic region. I am believe the idea was to stop the target from moving towards you. I kind of liked that version.

That's why experienced executioners shoot at the base of the skull, the primitive parts of the brain that control autonomous life support functions. The higher brain is supremely redundant and mysterious; damage can have unpredictable results.

Red Tornado: There are always going to be freak accidents where bullets through the brain don't kill or instantly incapacitate.
:uhoh: Is it bad that I read that last bit as "instantly decapitate"?

My real question is this: Doesn't hydrokinetic shock play a part at all? :scrutiny:

.357mag to the neck

I know someone who sat in the driver's seat of there little pickup pressed a .357mag to his neck pulled the trigger and virtually did nothing but put two big holes in his neck(and one heck of a hole in the roof of his pickup). But things are better for him now- he cut down to a fifth a day insteadof 1/2 gallon :banghead: . Some people never learn.

Had a similar situation here last week where a suspected carjacker was spotted by two cops. Foot chase ensued...perp turns and fires at cops...cops return fire hitting perp in the back of the head. Perp taken to hospital, treated and released to cops. He had only had minor injuries.

Next day the perp's father is talking trash about his boy getting shot in the back of the head..."they shoulda shot him in the leg or something", the dad says.

The father is crazy...the cops should have shot the gun out of his hand. :barf:
