took me a while, but i finally got out and shot my cz 527 american in .221 fireball. the first 3 shot group i shot at a 100 yards measured .838" with a simple forearm bag rest off of a table. this was shot with remington 50 grain accu-tips. i'll upload a pic of the target as soon as my computer is fixed. i wonder how good they'll get when i get my handloads shot.

Good for you, I just bought a cz 527 .223 maple stock last week, have not had the time to go to the range and see how it shoots yet. I almost went with the .221......may go back and get it too but for now, my gun money is all gone.

Nice. I adore my carbine in x39. Good choice on the 223, you can shoot it a lot cheaper than 221...and you will be shooting it a lot.

Also crazy about my carbine in x39. Just something undefinable about it that makes it feel right. All quality and a tack driver.

Cleaning tools?

grafsk8er,
You haven't said, so I was wondering if you have the proper bore cleaning tools to go with your new rifle?
I would recommend a bore guide, good high quality one piece rods, patches, bronze brushes (with loop ends), bore cleaner and gun oil.
Just a thought,
Max

Now take it to a gunsmith and get a trigger job done. I just had the trigger on my 527 Carbine done and it's incredible. The trigger breaks at exactly 3.5lbs and all the takeup, creep and grit are gone. Now I like the standard trigger better than the set trigger.

that is interesting, because it is not their biggest seller, but as accurate as their other rifles are, their fireball rifle, by all reports is the most accurate rifle they make.
