Don't know if this is the place for this thread/question or not.

Does membership to the NSSF get you tickets/passes to the Shot Show? Reason being, the wife and I are going to be in Vegas at the time of the 2012 show. We both want to go to the show. Wondered if individual memberships would allow us in the Shot Show. If so, we both will join. Thanks in advance for any input.

It's a trade show. Unless you are in the trade you are out of luck.

http://www.shotshow.org/

•Only individuals affiliated with the shooting, hunting, and outdoor trade may attend the SHOT Show. Attendees shall be required to provide verification of their trade affiliation (e.g., FFL or other supporting documentation) prior to or during the show. Attendees should carefully review the show’s attendance rules prior to registering.

It is not hard to get your Friendly Local Dealer to let you register as an associate or some such under his store name. If you do, eyeball all you want to but stay out of the way of the real dealers, some of whom do a majority of their year's business at SHOT. You are a tourist, it is bread on the table for them.

Interesting. While I'm aware that it's primarily a trade show, I was under the impression that the general public could attend as well.

It's not open to the public, but proving that you are "in the business" doesn't seem too difficult from things I've heard over the years since it includes a lot of other outdoor stuff besides shooting. If your work remotely relates to outdoor sports it shouldn't be a problem.
