Wow..Smooth double action trigger! Now I'm more familiar with singe actions, 1911's, Vaqueros, etc.. Only other double action I own is a Taurus 85 in stainless, and I have not shot that one in probably 6 or 7 years. But I will admit, I need to get use to the long pull of a DA and not pulling the sights off target :what:
Now I need to start reloading my .38's since I can tell this Python is going to be a lot of fun.

This usually happens when someone tries a Python. In my 28 years of carrying professionally I have run across only one person who did not like the Python. Enjoy the Python. I bought my second a couple weeks ago and was only able to fire six rounds through it. It is a 4" and I used 125 Gr. SJSP at 7 yards. All six hots were covered by a 3x5 index card exact point of aim. The Python is the revolver all others wish they were. Maybe maybe not, just enjoy.

You'll come out time and effort ahead if you load .38 special loads in .357 magnum cartridge cases. I've been doing it three decades and longer now without ever encountering a problem, except, of course, that I have less crud to clean out of cylinder chambers.

Never thought of that. But my only problem is that I have 600 pieces of .38 Special brass I've been saving from range pickups and friends over the years. I just knew one day I'd get me a Python!

John Farnam recently did a column in Soldier of Fortune where he discussed the problem of shooting 38 length bullets in 357 length chambers. The gases spall the front of the chamber and the 357 cases get stuck extracting. Use the longer cases with reduced loads. I don't remember the exact issue but it is within the last year or so.
