Has ANYBODY found a good, reliable load for these? I'm talking the new ones with the HUGE internal capacity, not the older rolled paper base ones. Those worked well.

I know they're not a preferred hull, so please abstain from the "leave them there and shoot gun clubs" comments. Gun club shells are relatively rare here 30 miles from the Federal Cartridge factory, so when I do find them, they are saved for reusable loads. I have need here for a "leave them where they land" shell for doubles and such, and these are the only one commonly available that I don't wish to save.

I've been experimenting with them for awhile, and cant get a 100% consistent load. I get mostly good loads, but an occasional soft shot. Have tried 12s3, 12s0 with the best success, and a few others with poor to erratic results, all with Red Dot /Promo.

I have some Promo left to work with, and WST going forward.

Cheddite primer, Red Dot, 12S3 or clone, 1 1/8 shot. I load them for the late season combo league skeet half. Shooting an 1100 I don’t pick them up. One and done. I think, check yourself, the powder charge is 17.5

Were yours the new plastic basewad ones? That is exactly the load I used for years with the spiral paper based ones. I miss those, had a really sweet smell and always crimped up nicely.

The best success I had was with the 12S0 wad, but 1 1/8 oz of shot. The stack height is wrong in mine with a 12S3 and promo, but they work decently despite a dishy crimp, but I still get an occasional soft shot and they won't run my semi auto reliably.

While digging in my garage, I also found some CB neon wads. Can't remember the number designation, but they are a straight wall 1 oz wad. I think they might stack up well with 1 1/8 oz. I'll have to give these a try while I still have some cool weather to test. Cool weather is where I've had issues with some soft shots.

They load well. Do not use the 12SX wads used for the Gold Medal and paper Federal hulls. !2SO white shown below..

The two wads you want are 1 oz CB 6100-12 (the neon green) or 1 1/8 oz CB 6118-12 (hot pink). These fill the space to get the stack height right.

Use Federal gold medal load data, just sub these wads for the 12SX data. Or......use data for the euro trash. Fiocchi, Cheddite, etc. They load the same as those.
