Has anybody ever used those shotshell cartridges for their xd 45 acp? Im thinkin about gettin some for when im camping should I see a snake or small but aggressive varmint of some type. Im curious about em. Can they have a negative affect on my pistols performance after usin em?

i did in my p90dc ruger, never had an issue. i was more worried bout slide cycling but they always worked for me...

No, but I did with my m&p 40, cycles alright, I just bought em to try it out, they're cool, about the same patter as birdshot from my comanche 410, but at shorter range. I'm pretty sure it would mess a critter, or someone's face to at least 7yds

No negative effect, but not all autos will cycle them. You have to try them in your own gun.

My PT840 doesn't cycle them too well. They get stuck halfway ejected and the closing force of the slide cracks the case. But if I cycle the action by hand after each shot it gets the job done. Wouldn't trust the stuff for much more than popping snakes, though.

Well if your good enough than you shouldn't need more than one for one snake, put a shotshell in the chamber and the rest .45 ACP.

At least thats what I would do.
