Should I be able to get a discount or free box of ammo?

Fair warning this may be out of line:

If you did not check the firearm before purchase please return it to the store. Then please if you own any other firearms, archery equipment, anything flammable or sharper than a steak knife have someone remove them from your home. If you do not know to check the firearm as far as the workings, everything in the box, caliber, ect. before walking out then you should not be owning it. Next thing you know you will forget to check if it is loaded and rest the barrel on your foot.

I did check the firearm, I just forgot to check the caliber, I don't know how many times I have to say that. Very out of line.

I decided to keep it, I'm just asking because I've herd of this happening to other people and them getting some ammo. When I get the store manager tomorrow I will let you guys know what they say.

I'm not sure what wal-mart did wrong here? Did you look it over first? Personally I think your more at fault than Wal-Mart.

Why would you ask here and not at Wal-Mart?

I suspect that, given Wal-Mart's ample postings about the non-returnability of firearms, you are Surely Out of Luck regards the possibility of correcting the error. If polled, I would vote no on rewarding your failure to conduct the final check before the deal was closed.

That having been said, if you paid by credit card you should immediately consult your card issuer about a back door remedy.

If only there were a commonly used latin phrase the summed up this situation. Something about the guy buying something should watch out or something like that.

See, here's your problem. Your only real remedy if they sold you the gun was the exchange it for the right one. You refused that, therefore, they really shouldn't give you anything. They offered to set it right and you are trying to take them for some free ammo.

Apparently that's not the only remedy considering I'm asking this.
