Gotta chance to buy a Para Ord P10-45 in what appears to be excellent condition. Price negotiable around $500.
I know they are out of production, there must be a reason why?
Anybody out there have one that can give and honest opinion? Is it worth $500?

IIRC, there were some magazine/feeding problems with that particular model that they never did fully sort out. You might want to give it an extended field test before committing to it...

I haven't shot one....but I have handled quite a few.

I really liked the idea of the gun in concept. But every time I picked one up, the grip was just too small for my hands.

I refused to buy a gun that didn't feel good in the grip if I couldn't spend some time with it actually firing the gun.

Have heard preacherman's concerns as well. But that is to be considered when buying any subcompact 45.

A shooting buddy of mine has one. It shoots nice & the added girth in the grip helps compensate for the short grip (I don't really like the dangling pinky). I've only put a few rounds through his P10, but it seemed to work well. He likes it so much, that he uses it as his truck gun.

I like the concept too......

But I heard the first ones were NOT reliable and I am not sure that was ever resolved. This may be a early one too!
If you can test it with a few rounds and it works.....go for it!! If I no get to shot a used one...I would pass.
The only reason to have the small critter is for carry and it don;t work there is no reason to carry it!

$500 is an ok deal considering they didn't sell well. Is it steel or alloy? I am pretty sure they were made in both. That may also affect your decision.

Like the others said, if you can test it and it functions well, and you can get the price down a bit, I'd get it. Make sure to check out the feedramp. I had a Para Companion that had a very rough ramp. I just got the Para Carry and it shoots like a dream. I liked the Para carry because of the thinner grips and didn't like the P10 because of the thicker grips. I do have the P12, 13 and 14, so I really like Para's, but passed on the P10.

Another thing is if you are going to use this for daily carry, sometimes the thigh grip is harder to conceal. I had a tough time trying to conceal my P12, so I bought the Para Carry.

10+1 on the P10 is a hard deal to pass up though. Let us know what you do.

Every gun is unique, some function, some don't. I have an early P-10 and it has been totally reliable, while my Kimber Ultra Carry was not. It's a great concept and I really like it, but find that the Kimber is easier to conceal and I just shoot it better due to the grip configuration, now that I've got the bugs worked out of it.

Good Luck, GySgt
