Should I make this trade?

you'd be crazy not to make that deal. not only for the value of the trade but the practicality aswell.

Depends on what you plan to use it for.

If you are going to carry it a lot and shoot it a little, go for the S&W.

If you plan to shoot it a lot and carry it only occasionally, stick with the Glock.

I personally would probably go for the Smith, just because I like revolvers and a bit of recoil in a handgun doesn't bother me all that much (Long guns are a different story). But the G36 may be a better fit for you. In the end, you have to decide which one is best suited for your intended use.

It's your back and I know what that's like being disabled. I couldn't hold onto the 357 as easy as the glock, I have had both. The guys are right dollar wise, but if you have pain like me, you are going to be better off with what causes you the least amount. You don't want to flinck because of the recoil going up your arm into your spine. You need to try shooting the 357 first.I owned a gym and never would have said this even 10 yrs ago, now everything is a compromise. I can still shoot my 45's witout much pain, my revolvers are all gone, but that's just me.

If I read your OP correctly, you have owned one before, so you know what you are in for.
I have owned a 360 and two 340s. I loved them in principle. If you can handle the bark and the bite, it is a unique combination of weight and power.

I could never shoot any of them frequently enough to attain/maintain proficiency. My old and well-abused body would not allow this.

Nasty with .38+p, downright abusive with "real" .357s. I sold my last one 5+ years ago, and my wrist still hurts. :)

As several have stated, if you make the trade and change your mind later, you will come out okay money-wise.

Make the trade, sell the revolver, buy a new glock 26 to carry, and take your girl out for dinner. Everybody wins.

In many ways, something is only worth what someone will pay for it.

In the case of trading, It's always, by it's nature, a "win-win".

Maybe for him he wins regarding some other reason than just face value...
even if it's that he doesn't want to go to a gunstore 10mi away, whatever, he sees a deal too.

To me, that's a no brainer, but I have to admit I'm a wee bit biased.

I love Glocks. That said... Yes you should trade him. If you are not happy you can always get enough resale out of that s&w to replace your Glock.

...took the words right out of my mouth.
