Looks like I may be able to trade even up. The Para is stainless and a more expensive pistol. I had been really interested in the 14-45's for awhile but I read so much crabbing about para's that I kind of gave up. I always like dhte look, feel and function of the 1911' s and getting the high cap takes the cake esp w/ the AWB sunset.

Downsides- I wanted to trade my G30 for a kahr pm9 or a G26, something easier to carry. This doesn't give me a better carry gun. (I have a 642 anyway).

Upsides- Seems to be a good deal $$ wise. I have been trying to shoot glocks less and get more into the 1911's, plus like I mentioned before about a year ago I was seriously searching for a 14-45 limited.

Should I do it?

Oh, yeah ...

I would jump on it ... be running to make this deal. The Para will hold its value much better and it'll be more fun to shoot (and I still maintain 1911s are easier to shoot WELL than Glocks). $$-wise, it seems to me that there shouldn't even be any question ... There will always be a glut of used Glocks on the market.

Listen real well to Old Dog! He KNOWS of what he speaks! I own a P-14 and love it. FINE gun! And NEVER believe you can not carry it concealed!!

Yeah that's pretty much what I am thinking. He may hold out for a NIB glock and not do the deal I'll have to see.

It's just funny when you post a WTT it seems like you never get what you ask for.

i have a p16.4o lda

and you couldnt give me a half dozen glocks for it. and no i am not glock bashing as my 17 and 23 wouldnt like that:D the para just is superior it is a 1911 which just tells the story itself. unless you are going for ccw alone i dont think i would want to ccw my p16 all day long:uhoh:

I didn't jump on the trade fast enough and it appears to be gone.

My G30 is decent pistol but I have been debating getting rid of it because it just isn't fitting the niche I bought it for. I would rather have a smaller gun to carry. I am comfortable with 9mm and figure why not get something easier to carry.

I shot it in GSSF this year but I'd rather shoot something else because there aren't enough participants in major sub, there is only one prize and it is 75 bucks.

I can carry the G30 concealed, I just think I might rather carry something else.

Bottom line is I bought the gun to carry it, and I am not, so why keep it?

Well, it isn't for collection and it doesn't serve its purpose well enough for you. I think the answer is easy. Wait (again?) for a decent deal to show up, though.
