Should I trade a Sig 516 for an M1 Garand?

I wouldn't trade an AR for a Garand unless I had another AR. Not right now. It will probably be easier to find another good Garand than AR in todays gun climate.

I have a total of 4 AR's in the house and if someone offered me significantly more than I paid for it right now I might consider trading one to buy a Garand. But if it were the only AR I owned I'd be keeping it. If you can afford to buy the Garand without letting the AR go, or by selling something else then go for it.

All-matching, original numbers?

That's the first time I've read about anybody on a website reported having access to such an M-1.

With access to a good supply of "suitable" ammo for an M-1, I would trade any AR for it.

I traded my only AR--basic. no accessories- for an all-matching, original #s AMD-65 by TGI.

Danish M1s are not "all matching" or "original" numbers. They are all rebuilds.

30-06 is still pretty much anywhere including some walmarts etc.

Get a new orion 7 spring and some grease. Use those two together and never have a worry.

The sight distance on a Garand is certainly better than the sights on my 16” barrel AR had.

Probably better than sights on a 18 or 20” AR.
