Should I trade my A2 upper receiver for a flat-top upper receiver?

a flat top is nice you can allways put a carry handle on it......but thats $90 you have to spend
the upper you have has sights so if you trade your going to have to spend some money

If you want to put any kind of optic on it, flat top is the way to go.

If all you want is irons, stick with your A2.

Putting irons on a flattop is easier than putting an optic on an A2.

I'd do the trade.

Not straight across unless the flat top upper comes with a rear sight of some kind. A2 uppers are more valuable because of the sight, so a flat trade is not in your favor. At least as far as $$$ is concerned. As far as functionality, I prefer the flat tops for their versatility. Since you use your rifle for versatile roles, a flat top might be better suited to your needs. But it's all preference.
