number6,

youre kidding right? The antis use that type of argument against anyone carrying. Just substitute "average law abiding citizen" for "coach".

intune -- I didn't mean guns shouldn't be at baseball games. Just not in between the lines. Let the spectators carry all they want, but leave the playing field for just that...playing.

Coach X loses control over a blown call by Umpire Z in the bottom of the 9th and shoots umpire after heated debat all the way to the parking lot after the game.
How about this scenerio:

Coach X loses control over a blown call by Umpire Z in the bottom of the 9th and jumps in his SUV and runs over the ump after heated debat all the way to the parking lot after the game.

Guns have nothing to do with it.

Of course, with a field full of baseball bats to be used as weapons, I don't see how if someone who was violent and on the field; couldn't get their hands on a baseball bat and beat people up..

4v50's got it right though.. Responsibility is the key word..

I coach little kid's baseball and soccer. I carry a 1911 daily but it gets locked in the truck during practices and games.
