Actually, I think NineseveN advocated gun drawn, but at low ready instead of pointing the muzzle directly on an "undefined" person that is not holding a weapon or attacking.

I think I got carried away and started using the term "breaking leather" which means simply drawing because it seemed like the low ready idea was ignored from the gate. That's my fault, this was a new thread and it confused things when I carried that over from the other one. I would prefer an officer have an advantage and still be safe with their firearm, low ready or guard is ideal for the situations I described...but I understand where some confusion may come in because of my inconsistency.

Low ready or guard would be what I would try and advocate instead of covering a non-violent suspect with no credible indication of threat with the muzzle.
