I had a conversation with one of you guys on shoulder rigs a couple weeks ago, and thought I'd share this to show something a little different than what we are used too.

This first one is a horizontal rig for a 3.5" Model 27. Sports a veg lining, thumbbreak, and shark trim. He did not want anything on the offside of this rig so I just embellished the joint on that side a little to accent.

The second is a pivot rig for a custom Glock 460 Rowland conversion. The problem with a horizontal holster for a long handgun is the barrel protrudes front and rear and this is worse the thinner the user is. A vertical rig is really hard to draw from because of the barrel length. On this you pop the snap on the clamshell to allow the holster to then pivot down on the draw. Simple and effective. Everything on this is also veg lined with an elephant overlay.

Last but not least is another pivot rig for a 3" 696 44 special. He wanted to be able to wear this one in field use or conceal carry which is why I chose the pivot style for it. It sports a reload on the offside and a bunch of basket weave. I even stamped the liner of the clamshell on this one just to see how it would do.

Excellent work! I actually was never a big fan of basketweave, but you have made a piece of work that takes that pattern to the level of fine art. Thank you for showing us these pix.

Another fine example of your expertise and. craftsmanship in leather! All of them look fantastic, especially the last one for the S&W Model 696!.

Good looking group of holsters. They are very classy.

Are they all the same shade of brown? Do you have a specific name for your brown?

I really enjoy looking at basket weave, but for my every day gear I couldn't ever see wearing it. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you sir, but your overly generous. The 696 rig seems to be the crowd favorite!

All of those are the same base color, that I boringly just call brown or dark brown. You'll always have some shade variation and I oil all the pieces to match the darkest of the set. You can see that the 696 rig is a bit darker than the glock rig, the 27 one is somewhere in the middle. Hope that's clear as mud.

Fine leather craftsmanship shown there. I like the brown color of the leather. Cordovan?

Thanks for the kind words, this wouldn't have enough red in it to pass for a Cordovan but it's not far off the spectrum. As a caveat my sister worked for a year or so in Pell City at an equine clinic - seemed like a nice place to live the few times I got to visit.
