I ordered a custom slide from them and accidentally chose the wrong cut for the slide. I wanted one for the Burris Fastfire III and IV/Vortex Venom Docter footprint. I chose Vortex Viper, which is close, but the cut for that doesn't have the slight curve in the front.
I was just going to buy a Viper, then realized it has the lock screws for the adjustments on the rear. So if you have rear sights installed, you have to remove them any time you want to adjust your red dot. Stupid.
So, I checked all of the available footprints, measured the cut out, and ordered a Sightmark Mini Pro M-Spec. It arrived today and didn't fit. Measured it and it is 1.89" long. Their website says it is 1.77" long, which would fit in the cut out for the Viper, which is 1.81".
Frustrated, called NORSSO and asked how much to re-cut the opening for a Fastfire IV, which should just entail adding a slight curvature at the front of the cut.
The gentleman that answered the phone was super polite and helpful and pointed out why that was not possible, due to how their CNC machines and programs are run. Also, the slide is cut before being heat-treated, so any additional machining will compromise the heat treat.
He said to decide what exact optic I want and to call back and he will give me a great deal on a new slide, even though his company did nothing wrong and it was all on me.
Refreshing to speak to a business that was respectful and pleasant and willing to help out a customer who clicked the wrong button when ordering.
Their slides are perfect!
