Just figured I'd state a pleasant experience with Weaver CS I had. I've got a sporterized Mauser that I've had for a while. It's drilled for 2 piece Weaver mounts but I think it may be drilled slightly off center as I've had trouble with scopes and windage adjustment (with 2 scopes I run out of adjustment clicks right before or right as I get it lined up).
Figured I'd try the dovetail style mounts since those allow windage adjustment outside of the scope. When I bought the first set (a 2 piece base) the screw holes didn't line up, but I was able to contact Weaver CS and they provided me with the measurements of the screw holes on the 1 piece base so that I could go measure my rifles and ensure that everything would line up properly. Confirmed that that would work and I ordered their 1 piece base afterwards.
Now I've got a new mount on the gun and though I haven't shot it yet, I've got the scope at least bore-sighted properly with plenty of clicks on the scope left .
Just though it very nice that you can actually contact a company these days and get a technical response.
