I admire the Kahr value series guns (CM/CW/CT 380/9/40/45) but I am not a fan of the two-tone combination of black polymer frame and stainless slide. When I see them I always think, hmmm, I'll probably want to add night sights anyway, maybe I should get one and blacken the slide while I'm at it?

I am sure some people have decided to blacken, Duracoat, Cerakote, Moly/Teflon, Krylon or otherwise DIY finish their formerly two-tone guns, Kahr or otherwise. Please share a pic and tell us what process you used, how it went and how the finish has held up.

You may be better off sending the slide (stripped or assembled) to a pro. Figure the cost of the paint, prep supplies, and your time, you may come out cheaper unless you're doing more than one.

The best paint I know of for stainless is powdercoat, everything else I've used ends up flaking off with use. But to be fair, I haven't used any gun coatings. Just rattlecans and automotive paint.

Tagging since I dont like the looks of stainless...
