+1 on Sig Sauer making an excellent product, even if it is a polymer frame! I almost purchased one of the SP2022s for the same usage that you are looking for, but decided to go with the FNP-9 for about the same price instead. I actually think it may have been $50 cheaper, but that's not the point.
MY POINT is that I originally couldn't decide between the two, but the FN came with 3 mags instead of 2, a better case, and it fit just a touch better in MY hand overall. Take a look at the FNP-9, it operates almost exactly the same as the SP2022, and is made with excellent fit and finish. I have now put close to 1000 rounds through mine without a single problem. I'm not trying to take anything away from the Sig, but I just have much more experience with the FNP-9. Try one out, handle them side by side, you might be surprised.
Also, as far as occasional CC'ing, the FNP-9 isn't quite as chunky as the Sig, and will probably be a little more comfortable and a little easier to conceal.
