There were a lot of sales going for the Labor Day holiday. I hope I did enough homework, online with google, you tube, gun brokers, etc to get some kind of a deal on the Sig Sauer 2022 9mm I picked up. I went to Family Firearms in Brandon, got a quote for $394, but they'ed have to order one. Very nice people and I'll-do business with them in the future. Went up the road to Shoot Straight where they'd already advertised the 2022 for $399. I'd already viewed some prices online, saw some videos on the take down and "tips" for the gun, including replacing the polymer guide rod with a stainless steel one ($25). They threw in a laser sight on top of that, all for $399. I bought one!!
Next went to Bill Jackson's down in Pinellas. They were also having a sale and also had manufactuer's reps on hand for demo shoots. I asked the Sig rep if they had any 2022s. He said they were all sold out. I asked him what they were asking for them and he said $599 ! Now, he didn't mention it and I didn't think to ask at the time but they must have had sig night sights on them, that would put the price about right. They were also throwing in three months of free range time.

I like the feel of the 2022, read some good reviews on it, and am happy with the purchase. A Sig 2022 with laser light
in 9mm for $399.

Did I do alright?

Shoot Straight still had a good many left when I left there today.

I've always felt that Shoot Straight has treated me right and I've purchased several guns from them. They're always available for questions and, I enjoy looking through the used guns as well. They've got a really nice spread at the Lakeland Gun show as well, MANY tables.

I know some folks don't care to shop there but, I've always had good experiences at the one in Lakeland where I typically shop. Enjoy the Sig!

You are gonna love the gun.

I love my Sig P2022

I sent my slide to CCR for a $79 slide job (because I like tu-tone guns).

Now it prettier (to me) and a wonderful shooting gun. IMHO

I assume you're talking 'bout the SP2022?
If so, in my neck o' the woods they go for $495 with two magazines, night sights, and 2 grips. They used to have 3 magazines and 3 grips for that price.

You're never gonna find anything resembling a deal at Bill Jackson's. Shoot Straight seems to have the best prices as an average, but a lot of their stuff is still high. I live in Pinellas and really can't say that I have a go to LGS because they all seem to suffer from MSRP and horrible service. All that said Shoot Straight is the best shop I've dealt with that had a big selection. Still they have a ton of room for improvement.
