I've had both, and I actually liked the sig better (and I'm assuming you're talking about a P220 in .45).
My "problem" with Sigs is that their controls are backwards. It bugs me that the slide lock and decocking lever are reversed. I don't know if you intend to use either weapon for defensive purposes. If so, I would get the platform that is most similar to guns you already own.
I'm still trying to decide what I want to get for my 21st, I've narrowed it down to a SIG 1911, SIG P220, HK45, and the FNH FiveseveN.
From the research I've done, they are equal FWIW but I don't know about the longevity of the P220 while the HK45 in one test was going strong even at round 50,000. The HK45 did break the single action sear but still worked double action. The P220 can survive being run over by construction equipment and still function like it was NIB.
hks are hella expensive, but if money is not a variable go for it
Honestly, these two guns are pretty much apples to apples in what they offer. My advice? Go shoot them both (or at least hold them) and pick which one that you like better.
