I bought a "P6" while I was home on leave. I've always been a fan of the P225s and the local Cabela's had half a dozen P6s. They were a little scuffed up, and the serial number does look jacked up, but for $350 I figured I couldn't go to far wrong.
I'm absolutely pleased w/ my purchase. The first time I took it out we were just shooting cans in the back field. Keep in mind that I'm a middling shot, esp if I don't particularly take my time on the shot. I looked at a can 25 yards away or so, pulled up and, POP, the can jumped up in the air. Me: Huh? Did it again. And again. I'd say six of the eight shots were dead on without me even trying. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy w/ my P6. Don't let the looks fool you.
The only true difference I know (except for the markings) is the hammer. It has a weird design that is supposed to break if it dropped, but a P225 hammer will swap right in if you don't like it.
