I know Sig 229 grips won't fit on a 225.

Some comparison pics between the two models makes it appear that they are nearly identical in size/shape, and I was curious especially from those that own both and can compare, if you think it would be easily possible to fabricate some kind of spacer/filler to be able to use 229 Crimson Trace grips on a 225?

I have a 229, but not a 225. That said, it would be pretty easy to get some sheet plastic from Home Depot and cut it to shape with a Dremel, scroll saw, or metal snips. You could get a thin sheet of plastic for ~$10 and tin/metal snips for ~$10-15, if you have no supplies. I would drill it out exactly the same size as the hole in the grip panel, or you might have some shifting under recoil.

I'd approach this with the thinnest plastic they sell and cut a stack of them. If it takes 2-3 panels to get the thickness, use some 1-min epoxy to laminate them together and put a lot of weight on it. Sanding a big chunk of plastic usually yields an uneven surface. It's easier to laminate, dry, sand burrs off, then install (when epoxy is cured!).

The other, more drastic, option would be to see if you could sand or cut the area where the grip panels meet in the rear until they touch in all the right places.

That's kinda what I was thinking too.

I guess one of the bigger questions is whether the grip screws are in the right spot.
