Hello all. I recently bought a Sig 229 used, that has a few scratches/dings in the frame finish. Nothing real deep, but just minor dings. Does anyone know of a quick, easy touch-up method for this particular gun? I'm not looking to do a complete re-finish, just some touch-up work. Thanks in advance.

Birchwood Casey has both paint-type and chemical aluminum blackening products. Neither are great, but they'll help. The finish on the SIG frames is a sort of surface hardening. If you strip it, nothing you can put back on it will protect it from wear (especially at the slide rails and pin holes) to the extent that it was from the factory. Be careful not to do more harm than good when trying to restore the cosmetics.

Thanks, JNewell. I did a search on cheaperthandirt for Birchwood Casey, and up popped the Super Black Pen. It looks sort of like a Sharpie. Talk about cheap, quick, and easy. Looks like it should do just the trick for my Sig.
