Hello Guys,

This gun is new to me. In 2 days I will be the proud owner of my first Sig Sauer. I know to some this is a non Sig, as it is a poly frame. It is a LEO trade from the Mass. State Police.

If I had the money I would have purchased an actual P226, P228, etc. However I believe that there must be some merit to this pistol as many law enforcement agencies have chosen to carry this weopon.

I guess I'm a little different as I carry a Tanfoglio Force Carry (CZ-75 clone, MKEK Yavuz -16, Beretta 92f Centurion, Taurus Md. 82, Zastava CZ-999)

Good, bad, indiferent?? Personaly. I am looking forward to this Sig purchase, given my penchant for the slightly oddball stuff I will probably love it.

By the way...For those of you who have not bought one. The Yavuz -16 is a great pistol. I am not that good of shot (I try) Yesterday at 35 feet (1/2 silhouette) I shot 12 head shots, 2 off left, 1 off right. Recoil fels like...well nothing.

Anyway...I really enjoy being on this forum, and trust you guys opinion, I am an old man and this is really kinda cool for me. Tell me about the 2340.

As always, thank you much,

Gunner

I really like the SIGPRO series (2340, 2022). I have a circa 2002 (wow, ten years old now) 2340 with night sights and a matte stainless slide.

It doesn't feel the same as my P226, but it feels just as good and shoots just as well. The price point is difficult to beat, too. I'd seriously consider a second SIGPRO (a 2022 to get the standardized rail).

I'm sure you'd never guess it, but I'm a huge Sigpro fan. I bought a 2340 as my first handgun, when I was in the Police Academy back in 2000. It is a fantastic weapon and although I bought a 228 first chance I got, I still love the 2340. Frankly, it shoots just as well as my 228, or any other Sig I've had the pleasure to fire. My only complaints are the light rail, which nothing fits, and the grip. Although, I did get one of the new smaller grips from CDNN, and that fixed that problem.

I own a 2022 in 9mm and love it. Fit and finish are spot on and shoots like a champ. I love the guys who say they aren't real sigs because they are polymer.

I'm curious, how do you know it's a MSP trade in? Is it marked in any way? Thanks.

MSP

No. For a fact I do not know. I will pick up the pistol tommorrow. I was told this by the seller, to the best of his recollection. From what I have been reading, my gut feeling is this a Maryland State police gun.

Don't know for sure, but will post tommorrow.

Thanks
