sig 239 vs h&k usp compact

guys could you offer your opinions on which would be a better concealed carry pistol. 40 sw preferrably

I carry a 239 and love it. I loved it so much I have stopped shooting my xd and am using it as a range gun everyday.

Both are excellent handguns but I prefer the SIG 239 over the H&K. But lately been carrying for personal use a Stoeger or Beretta PX4.

I felt the SIG was more comfortable and easier to shoot. However, that might have been due to carrying a SIG 229 or 226 while working.

My personal suggestion would be to fire a few hundred rounds though both and see which one is more comfortable for you. Also, if worried about concealability, the SIG is a bit narrower and easier to conceal.

The Sig is a little smaller than the HK. The DA trigger pull is also probably better. The typical HK is a V1 - safety/decocker on the left side. You can carry the HK cocked and locked.

I have shot both of those guns quite a bit. The P239 really shoots well with a $15 set of Hogue grips on it.

The HK is a good gun, but if you want to carry concealed, the P239 wins hands down.

If I wanted a home defense gun, I would probably choose the HK.

I only carry a Sig P239 in .40 cal. I originally bought a CZ40b for carry, but found it a bit too big. After quite a bit of research (the USP Compact a part of that), I decided on the P239. There are a lot of reasons I went with it, but in the end it is a ton of gun for the money ($550 for me). I find the P239 to be the perfect compromise between portability and shootability, the quality, durability, and niceties of a finely crafted Sig are just icing on the cake. I have many holsters for it, but it carries best in a $25 Don Hume Jit Slide holster and I can wear it OWB with almost any spring, winter, or fall clothes. I also have the Houge grips on it and it adds a complete pinky hold to the gun over the stock grips. The gun is a big little gun, but can be concealed easily and shoots very nicely.

Fit and finish are spectacular, trigger is excellent, and I can hit anything at 10 yards with it which is saying a lot due to my very lacking pistol skills. I have never had a FTF in the 500 some shots I've had through it in the last year and half.

Not a lot of difference. The HK is better with a flat magazine baseplate than with the finger-rest extension. Pick the one that you can shoot better.

How large are your hands? The USPc has a shorter reach to the trigger than the 239. On board ammo capacity is 12 verses 7 in the .40. The unloaded USPc is lighter. The SIG is slimmer through the slide.

You're going to need to hold each and see which fits you best. My Brother in Law has the 239 and I've got the USPc. He has gorilla hands and I don't.
