When I first read about the P250, the modular design hit a receptive note with me.
But then I thought about another modular system that I have: My SLR camera system. Now, I have several boxes of lenses and bodies, which can shoot either film and digital. Before leaving the house for a shoot, though, it seems I need to consult a spread sheet to ensure I have the right combination of lenses, bodies and ammo (uh, I mean film or flash cards) that all work compatibly together for the intended use that day. My wife complains I take too darn long.
OK, it's not a perfect comparison. But if the P250 is as modular as the marketing material suggests, I can envision staring at the gun safe in similar frustration.
That said, one thing I learned from having an SLR camera system, is that you can spend a lot of money adding an awful lot of gear and abilities to your original purchase, but still tell your spouse or significant other that "no, honey, I didn't buy a new camera. This is my old one." This, for some people, may be one of the unheralded advantages of Sig's P250.
