I have a Compact Sig P250 that I really enjoy shooting, however I find the Compact Medium grip module a bit thick. It feels too big in my hand and in a concealed carry holster, it prints more than my single column .45s. So, now I need to think about swapping out the Compact Medium grip module for a Compact Small. Or, I could switch to the SUBcompact Small grip module.

Suggestions? Feedback?

The Compact Small is currently out of stock. The SUBcompact Small is in stock at Sig, but will also require me to buy a new 12 round Subcompact magazine (the Compact holds 15 rounds). Price is $46 for the gripframe and another $46 for the magazine.

Have any of you P250 or P232 users tried the smaller grip frames? What are your thoughts?

I prefer the smaller frames myself.

The subcompact small can be used with your compact mags with the addition of a ten dollar rubber buffer that fills the gap; the name escapes me at the moment but you can find them easily on eBay.

I have a P320 Compact and both Medium and Small grip modules. The Medium module feels a tad large in my hand and the Small module feels so much better. But that is my impression from holding the gun with the different grip modules. For the heck of it, I decided to try shooting with both grip modules and shot slightly better with the Medium than with the Small.

The Medium and Small grip modules are so similar in overall size that I cannot imagine any practical difference in printing.

Here are a couple of photos that highlight some of the more significant differences between the Medium (on the left) and Small (on the right) grip modules. The upper part of the Medium grip is wider than the Small and the Small has a more pronounced curvature of the backstrap than the Medium.

Buy the subcompact small, and use a magazine spacer on your 15 round magazines. Don't expect the gun to print any less. If you buy a single 12 round magazine, it might conceal better.

I bought a Full-Small, and trimmed down the dust cover, added 3 17 round magazines and transformed my P320 Compact into a Carry. I'm still waiting for Compact-Small grip frames too.
