Stupid question Im sure...The front sight on my p226 just came loose and fell off. I still have it and plan on replacing the sights a little further down the road with some night sights...Would it be ok if in the mean time I used some loctite to keep it in place? Or should I have it re-steaked at a gun smith?
Not sure if it matters or not, but its one of the older w. german sigs.

Assuming a dovetailed sight.
You can use Blue Lock-tite.

Or, perhaps a better method.
Set the sight upside down in a vice to support it, and use a center-punch to raise up some burs on the botton of the sight.

That will raise the sight in the dovetail and make it fit tighter.

If it's truly staked in like a 1911 sight, only restaking it will keep it in place.

It looks to be dovetail. And I dont have a vice or punches. I will go with the blue loctite for a "quick fix". Thank you.
