I owned one a while back. It was a beautiful 1911 that was a fantastic bargin. I think i paid $650 for it used... I traded it for a polymer gun and extra's but sometimes regret it.

I own other Sig's... my P220 is my favorite Sig, Im curious as to why Sig's 1911's never really seemed to catch on?

would it be the same if say Glock made a 1911? some feel they should just stick to what they know?

Was it all because of the External extractor the sig has?

Just wondering thats all

Lots of problems with the early ones. They were Caspian frames with Storm lake barrels. Top quality parts but Sig had very little expertise in assembling them properly.

If you got a good one they were real tack drivers. I had one for while but sold it to fund a Baer. It was a good gun but it had to go back to Sig because the extractor pin would walkout of it as you shot it. They repaired it and sent it back to me.

Overtime they stopped outsourcing the parts and started making them in house. This is when they started to call the the Revolution. They have the external extractor which is a turnoff for purist and the original roll out problems hurt the brand.

Also the fact that the slide is so square and Sig like it does not fit in most 1911 holsters. It is crowded 1911 marketplace and IMHO the Sig is too expensive for a gun with such a short checkered history.

Thanks for the great response.

Ive always been open to grabbing another if i found a good deal. Between the name "SIG" and the quality appearance, it always shocked me to see such a 1911 sold for what appears to be a heck of a deal.

Great information though.

I got two bad Revolution Carrys. I am still kicking myself for not getting the P220 SAO instead, but it is not as slender or flat as a 1911, nor are the controls as perfectly placed.

I had one it shot good and was reliable, it was just ugly as hell so it got traded off.

They did it again to the little Colt Mustang, squared it off, darned if I know why.
