Sig Nightmare Carry?

I've been wanting one for a while now, but the dealer's shelves are bare of Sigs (and any other quality brand).

I have only been able to get 100 rounds through mine so far, but I really like it. I have had several Kimbers, but already like the Nightmare better. No FTF, FTE, or any malfunctions. Haven't used the factory mags. Only Wilson Combats.

I bought a Fastback Carry about five months ago. I believe its the same gun with different grips and finish on some parts. I am very impressed with the fit, finish, and quality feel of the gun. It has night sights that I like a lot. The gun has been flawless since then, with about 800 rounds through it; mostly 230 hardball and some 230 Golden Sabers. It is now part of my carry rotation with a Wison Service mag with the flat baseplate. I carry it in a Garret Silent Thunder Fusion IWB holster. Very comfortable and conceals well.

I've got the S&W 1911SC which is a very similar gun, commander length, bobtail, tritium sights. Seems an excellent carry gun for me.

I saw a Sig Nightmare Carry the other day and was wondering if anyone had an opinion? Felt nice in hand with the "bobbed" grip, I guess that's what it's called,Night sights, and commander length. I have several 1911's but all are 5". How about it THRer's yah or nah?
This is a beautiful piece of gunnery. There are more practical defensive carry choices today. Assuming that you mean carry on your person, not in a man purse; that you are a civilian, not a duty officer; that you intend to carry concealed, not open; looks to me like a nah. But I have trouble overruling my own inner child, and have no intention to tussle with yours.

Just bought a new Fastback Carry (rosewood grips, all black nitron finish). Now the only issue appears to be finding a suitable holster. Nobody has them yet. The slide contour is slightly different than most 1911s, so a Commander holster will not fit correctly.

I have the Scorpion Carry, and it fast became my favorite pistol. I had a Springfield 1911A1 Milspec and a Ruger SR1911 before I got the Sig. It's a much nicer gun than the other two and the accuracy is the best of any handgun I've ever shot, period. My best 25 yard group so far was 5 shots in a tad under 3 inches unsupported. I can't even do that with my Ruger MKII target for some reason

I think it really killed 5" 1911's for me though. Now I only care for the commander length ones because they balance and line up on target better for me.

+1 for Sig Carry 1911's

I purchased a Silent Thunder Fusion IWB holster from Garret Industries here:

I like the holster a lot. Not as large as a Super Tuck clone I have for my CZ 75 Compact, making it plenty comfortable. Quality seems top notch, though I've only carried with it for a few months now. If you check their Firearm Models page, you'll see that the accommodate the Sig 1911 with their "non-traditional slide".

Looking forward to the first range trip with the new baby tomorrow.

As it happens, I just installed a one-piece Wilson guide rod (Commander length) to try. If the pistol isn't 100%, I'll take it out at least until the pistol is broken in, but I wanted to try it anyway as I've always favored the full length guide rods. Just a personal thing I guess.

Made the mistake of mentioning that over on a forum dedicated to that manufacturer and just got hammered for it! I must say again, that it's good to be a member of a forum like this, where there's some respect for others' opinions and the general thought that all of us can learn something once in a while.

Still on the hunt for a paddle holster to fit the Fastback/Nightmare Carry, but no luck so far. I've gotten some replies from holster makers that Sig is not being good about making dummy guns available to holster makers... at least not yet. It might just take a while until we see some available.

Hey, Sinbad, if you happen to see this... is the holster that you got made for the Sig 1911s? I can't find anything that's made for the Sigs... they are all made for the standard contours of a Colt, etc. Sigs have a bit of a squared-off slide.

Garrett Industries will make a holster specifically for your SIG.

The SIG 1911 has been around for a few years now, and there are many holster makers will make a holster for SIG 1911's. You just need to specify that is what you want.
