is it possible to chamber the p220st for the 460 rowland? would the p220st platform be able to sustain that kind of power? i ask because 1911s can be converted, and if one 45 can do it, why not another?

is the 460 a round you can purchase at your average gunshop? how about mags? i assume i would have to modify existing p220 mags, but has anyone even heard of a p220 conversion to 460 rowland?

thanks

thanks for the info preacherman. i got the idea when i read a thread about what handgun would serve well for bear defense.

45 Super maybe, dunno about the Rowland. 5" 1911's need a compensator to function correctly. I suppose you could come up with some type of arrangement for a 220. Magazines are the same, might need a stronger spring because of the faster slide cycle. I doubt you will find Rowland ammo at your average gunshop. Pretty much a specialty round that not many people fool with. You might be able to modify the 220 to 45 Super. Not quite as powerful, but alot moreso than 45 +P. A stronger recoil spring and shock buff would do it for you.
