As some of you know , several years back , Sig changed the slide production to machined stainless from the stamped steel with pinned breech block . Any of you with 9mm P226's have any comments/preferences between stamped or stainless ?
I've owned and shot many Sigs over the last 20 yrs and never had any trouble with the stamped slides . Over the last year , the used gun market has been flooded with some great deals on the Factory Certified pistols from Sig . I'm thinking of picking up a couple P226 9mm's and wondering if I should look for stainless or the older stamped models ? Or , maybe it just doesn't matter . The only downside that I've experienced is that the stamped steel guns seemed to be a rust magnet .
Thanks for your info .
