Hi folks, I'm hoping some of you can help me fix a few problems on my own before it gets sent to Sig. I'm having quite a few problems, and its been my experience that if I send something in with so many issues, I'll be lucky if they even fix just one of them. I just have awful luck when it comes to dealing with customer service of any company.

On to the gun, it's a p226 tac ops, pushing a year old and a tad over 1000 rounds. I don't want to do anything that will void my warranty, but I want to rule out anything I can take care of on my own. I already had to have 2 of the original mags (checkmate versions iirc) replaced when I first bought it, they would stick in the magwell and had to be yanked out while holding the release. The other 2 mags are junk as well, but I simply bought a few mecgars and keep the remaining checkmates as last resort spares.

The front sight is a TFO, and the rod appears to have melted loose just ahead of the tritium part. This is the problem I'm not looking to solve on my own, it simply needs to be replaced.

I've had feeding issues from day 1, I was told it was a combination of the gun needing to be broken in and problems with those checkmate mags. I can rule out it being a simple magazine problem, I have the 2 checkmates, 2 sig branded mecgars, and 2 mecgar aftermarkets, all 15 rounds, and 1 mecgar 13 round mag. The feed issue happens with all of them. The failures happen in 2 different ways, either the nose of the round will catch on the feed ramp (the ramp that is attached to the frame, not the barrel feed ramp) or the nose will be in contact with the top part of the chamber, with the slide closing on the side of the round. These feeding problems happen about every other magazine, but usually more often. It happens with winchester white box and pdx defender ammo, federal american eagle, champion, hydra shok, hornady custom, tap fpd and critical defense, speer gold dots... well, everything I've tried, and that would be a lot. I just got a new recoil spring I intend to try, but havent had a chance yet. Doesn't seem to matter how clean or dirty, dry or wet the gun is. Different lubes seem to make no difference either, but the gun certainly runs smoother (feed issues aside) with a lot of oil and grease. I bought a 357sig barrel, because it apparently is less prone to feed issues... well, not in this gun. It actually seemed to jam even more.

Next problem is the short reset trigger. Apparently mine is a random reset trigger. I didn't really notice what was happening until the last range trip when the front sight kept jumping out. I've been noticing that every now and then when I would get too preoccupied with sight picture that I wasn't letting the trigger out enough to reset before going to fire again, but after the sight went black, I just decided to finish off my ammo on my technique. I found that after just a couple shots, I was letting the trigger out to the point that I had remembered it resetting, but it wasn't. I had to let the trigger go out about twice as far before it would reset, though the trigger break remained the same.

I might try to get some pictures up to illustrate my poor descriptions when I get off work. I know it has to go back to sig, but like I said, with all of these problems, and my own history of dealing with customer service with any other thing ( I kid you not, I've had trouble convincing a car dealership backlit controls weren't lighting up because they were looking everything over in a parking lot at high noon on a sunny day and the lights were only sensor activated. So none were on but they were all well lit :banghead: I just left after arguing for 45 minutes), I want to straighten out as much as I can before I send it in.

Call SIG IMO. They need to fix it. I hate dealing with CS as well but you may be surprised. For the money you spent they better take care of you.
