Shunning my S&W 642, my wife recently used her dad's Sig P232 to take her concealed carry course and did very well with it. And now, well, in spite of my wallet's pleading, we're shopping for a P232. However, I haven't been able to find any in stock. Local stores can give me a price, but don't have them available, and nowhere I've checked online has them in stock. I heard a rumor that it had been discontinued, but Sig's site still has it listed. I was wondering if anyone here might have any info on the availability of this gun.

Call the company outlet store in Epping, NH. You will have to call them, they don't do Internet sales. 603-610-3456.

I just purchased a stainless steel P232, new. I don't know when it was made and I have not yet had a chance to fire it. I have not heard anything about discontinuing this model but jumped on the one I bought because it seems to me it is a model that could be near the end of its days (pity, if that would happen). I think they have been made in small numbers for some years now and Sig seems very limited in what distributors they allow to carry their line. I just stumbled on mine. I also have a bead on a used, somewhat older blued model but can't decide yet whether I want to take the plunge. It is a bit worn from carry on the outside, but looks pristine on the inside. Alas, it only comes with one mag.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the feedback, and the link. I've never used Gunbroker, and hadn't thought to check it. I agree that it's likely on its way out, considering how small .380s have gotten recently. But it is a fine gun. Thanks again.

Gunbroker is like anything else on the internet. Use common sense. A lot of the listings are from gun dealers and are very credible in their dealings. I have had good results buying on line. Look at the feedback on the seller. If they have had a number or positive transactions, they are most likely OK.

I did get burned on Guns America one time. If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is, and they will not get involved in disputes between buyers and sellers...

If you choose Gunbroker to perhaps save money, try to buy from an FFL dealer who has a business reputation to uphold.

Will do. I think gunbroker would be a last resort for me, but still an option. One of my favorite local stores quoted me a good price, but just didn't have access to them at the moment. They're my first choice, and I'm going to keep checking with them.
