I finally ordered a sig p239 in 9mm last night. Legs said it will be there at 10 tomorrow. I thought they were a ghost. Never seen one at all. I got some extra cash. So I bought one. So I gotta buy the misses some diamonds. Pics will be up soon

I bought a Glock 17 way back in 1986, SN AY4XX to show you how old it was. I had that gun until 2003 (or thereabouts) and I could never shoot the thing worth a darn. My target from 20’ looked like what you’d expect from a few 12 gauge buckshot shells.

I finally had enough and sold it to fund a Sig P239. Wow, what a difference! I actually had holes touching. Before that time I thought I was just a lousy shooter (even though I did well with the AF’s M9).

There was a time that I was going to abandon the 9mm since I already had so many .45ACP and 10mm, but the P239 is just such a great shooter and conceals so well, I still have it.

Shot a 329 yesterday that was borrowed from a friend of a range buddy....excellent gun. Not for me as it doesn't point the way I want it to but it is accurate and fantastic. If it fits you or your skillset/mindset I'd say you have an excellent companion!

I have a SIG P239 SAS Gen 2 and it's a great pistol. It's accurate and extremely reliable with absolutely no failures of any kind with various types of ammunition and using both the 8-rnd and 10-rnd magazines. I tried to use it as a CC pistol for a while but it just didn't carry well for me due to the weight. I changed the sights to Heinie front and rear which I prefer. I also swapped the factory grips for Hogue G10s which are way better. Here's before and after.

I've carried mine, which looks like Mainsail's, for close to two years now. It shoots well and I really like DA/SA hammer fired carry guns so this fits that niche nicely.

I am disappointed that I can't find an open top (no retention strap), outside the waistband, vertical draw, leather holster like the Galco Avenger for the 239. But I can find multiple choices for ankle carry, go figure. Get a good, purpose built carry belt, you'll need it.

Get yourself a good mag pouch and practice mag changes and you will never feel like you are lacking in ammo capacity.

You made a fine choice. Enjoy!

This is my primary carry gun. It is the SAS Gen 2 variant in .40 although I prefer the .357. Grips are Hogue Coco Bolo.

Well that is one thing I have to say about the 239, they shoot like rifles.

I was once in Ayoob's LFI-1 class and I had brought a pair of 239s.

The guy besides me had a Kahr .40 all steel gun.

We did some warmup shots on IPSC targets and, of course, the 239 was just puttting them in one ragged hole.
The guy with the .40 just was real impressed. Thought I was a master shot or something.

Well his gun went belly up (as in broke) and I let him use my other 239. With his Kahr he had shotgun size groops, but when he fired my 239 there was one center hole.
He fired again and the hole was a bit larger and he looks at me.
Fired again and the hole was again a bit larger. It just blew his mind.

He had a grand time with that gun shooting for score in class.

Later he bought it off me (but that was ok, I had a THIRD 239 I picked up at a pawn shop for $400, in the box with papers.)

Now readers here know I pack a Glock, but guys, I still have one of my 239s as well as a 229 (they are 'classic' with no hooked trigger guards.)

And they both shoot like rifles and I have great respect for the SIG line.

The P-239 is a sleeper hit. I've owned them in 9x19mm and .40 and I regret selling them. I would consider the 9mm to be akin to the P-225, although ultimately price would be the deciding factor in which one to buy.

I bought a 239 way back when they first came out. Very accurate for a factory gun, and 100% reliable.
Unfortunately, due to financial hardships, I sold it to a friend last year.:banghead:

The logical side of me says to sell the P239 I've had since 2003. There are lighter, thinner designs out there with consistent trigger pulls. Some of the new designs have uber-coatings like melonite. Some have light rails. Some weigh 8-10 oz. less.

But when you rack the slide back, then put 9 rounds in an inch-or-two hole at 15-20 yds, fugggeddddaboutitttttttt. It ain't goin' anywhere.

Sweetest shooter I own. And I've owned a couple of dozen wheelies & semi's. Everyone that shoots it shoots it better than their own handgun.

Best part: it was mis-marked at 525.00 with fresh Siglites. Should have bought 2 or 3...

I have the first gen SAS DAK. Bought it in .40. Bought a used 357 SIG barrel and a couple mags. Then bought a Barsto 357 SIG barrel. (I didn't need a Barsto Barrel, I just really wanted a stainless barrel) and have carried it for years.

I'm stuck with a Glock as a duty gun, so, I like the DAK trigger as an off duty gun. No safety, no Decocker and, I'm an old revovler guy, so the DAK works well for me.

Buddy of mine carries the 9mm P239. The 9mm is considerably lighter and more svelte than the .40/357 SIG model. Its a great gun.

The 239 is a fine weapon, no doubt. I had one in .40 s&w. It ran like a sewing machine. However, I just never could shoot it very well. It felt really unbalanced and top heavy. It may be because it was a .40 but I have many other .40 S&W pistols I do shoot well. It just wasn't right for me.

I've put thousands of rounds down mine with zero failures of any kind. Ever. I carry IWB in a Crossbreed Supertuck or OWB in Concealment Solutions Sidewinder.

I bought one new for $450 shortly after they came out. A fine gun that never gave me any problems. It just didn't fit my hand. Try as I might I could just never get it to feel right for me.
