Sig P250 - Frame / Caliber Kit Prices?

Alright, so the P250 has me quite interested, but I'm trying to get some information on the price. I've talked to my gun shop of choice - they said that they will be able to sell the actual gun (with a 9mm full size configuration) for $599, and that he was unsure of the replacement prices. Apparently he was told by the Sig rep that they'd run about $50 each, but, is this information accurate? If so, does it apply to both the kits to change caliber and to change frame size? For example, if I get the 9mm full size and want to be able to convert it to 9mm compact or .40 sub-compact, how much is that going to cost me?
I wish Sig Sauer would just make this information available on their website.

I full conversion is going to be way more than $50. Most basic pistols barrels alone are going to start at least $80 and DIG would be more like $150.

Maybe the grip might be $50, but I kind of doubt that from SIG.

Complete slide conversion kit (slide, barrel, etc.) probably $300. Thats still cheaper than buying a new gun. It only gets pricey if you want several calibers and several frame sizes.

I'm more interested in the frames to be honest. Anybody have any more specific ideas on pricing on them?

I'd say I hope that they release the prices before my pistol permit is approved, but... I'd probably get my wish.

Went down to to shooting range/gun store today. According to their Sig catalog its $436 MSRP for a conversion kit. Retail prices are usually a bit cheaper. But they didn't have any kits in yet. They did have two black P250s and one bi-tone P250. I really want the bi-tone. $604.99

That's a good price on the P250.

According to our Sig rep, the actual street date for the conversion stuff is "late summer." He couldn't give prices for individual parts, but he said that the frames would be very cheap.

If you're not familiar with the system, the whole trigger-group is a one-piece module. That's the serialized part, and it contains the frame rails, trigger, all springs and hammer. Everything else is modular.

Take it out, and the actual frame is simply a molded piece of plastic. Our rep said they'd be "cheap."

I like the trigger, and one of these in .357/9mm might be my first plastic gun.

I can't give names, but Sig also has a "true pocket rocket" in the works, and as of 2009, the Swiss plant will be closing. The American plant is acquiring the molds and machinery for the P210. Internally, they're already discussing what it'll run on the market.

Oh, and .22lr conversion kits for the P220/P226 as of summer. Finally!

Can the 250 Compact be converted to the 250 full size?

I would assume so, but I want to ask to make sure.

I can't give names, but Sig also has a "true pocket rocket" in the works, and as of 2009, the Swiss plant will be closing. The American plant is acquiring the molds and machinery for the P210. Internally, they're already discussing what it'll run on the market.

Then hopefully they get the tooling to make a 551 style lower while they are at it.

Oh God, $436 MSRP for a caliber conversion?! Sig will make this gun a failure unless they make the caliber conversions cheap like $150-250. I'm not buying one of these now. For that price plus the initial cost of the gun, I'd much rather buy 2 guns. At say around $50 for the grip frames (as I've heard others mentioning/speculating), that to me is reasonable so they haven't completely screwed up. Someone in their marketing department in charge of pricing, as of the past few years, must have been smoking something of the crack rock persuasion with the prices they charge for some stuff though!

What I heard from a reliable source is $999 for a kit of all three caliber conversions. Plus $600 for the 250. You cant buy 4 Sigs for $1600 if you look at it that way.

Hopefully they become popular enough that other companies jump in with after market components like the slide, barrels, and especially the frames. Those frames cannot cost that much to produce since they are no longer the serial numbered receiver, and are what most people want to switch out at minimal cost.

I'm sure retail price on the kits will be in the $300 range. MSRP is always marked up.

Yeah, I'm still more concerned about being able to change the frame size. It'd be really nice to have one pistol that I can use effectively both for the range and carry. Until I hear otherwise, I'm keeping my hopes up that the frame change kits will be < $100.

Right now I only want the full size. The grip on the compact was too short for my average size hand. An aftermarket grip extension could fix the problem, but since this is a new gun I doubt there is anything aftermarket for it yet.
