Looking for a multi-purpose gun. One that can be used for concealed carry and fun plinking. I've heard that the Mod 2.0 isn't the best for large hands but I have very small hands.

So, what is a better gun for this purpose, the Springfield XDM, Springfield XD Mod 2.0, or the Sig P320 and in what barrel length?

Not familiar with either of the Springfields but just picked up a P320-Compact (9mm) and am VERY impressed!
Have several SIG 'polys' (SP-2009 and 2022) but never a 'striker'...
This pistola is solid as a rock, extremely well built and VERY accurate!
Put 200-rnds thru with five brands ammo... ZERO, flawless....
The trigger was the big surprise... crisp, tight and a pleasure to shoot.
Check one out if you can, it's definitely a winner!

There are a lot of models within those names, so I'm not clear what guns you are comparing.

For instance, when you say Springfield XDM, I think of the 4.5" barreled model http://www.springfield-armory.com/xdm-series/

There is also the XDM Competition Series with a 5.25" barrel http://www.springfield-armory.com/xdm-series/

and of course the 3.8" barreled guns in full grip or compact size. http://www.springfield-armory.com/xdm-series/ , which, since you are considering the XD Mod 2, may be the XDM you are considering.

The XD Mod 2 only comes as compact guns http://www.springfield-armory.com/xdm-series/

The SIG P320 is available as a Full size, Carry, Compact, and Subcompact. http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-p320.aspx

I don't find little guns fun to shoot, and would make an effort to conceal the full size gun. In other words, I'd pick either the XDM 4.5" or either the SIG P320 Full or Carry size.

Well, I can tell you the 3.8" xdm, with the x-tension mag that comes with it shoots just like a full sized gun.

To the OP, JTQ shows you that your choice is not that simple. That being said, all your choices are excellent and you'll be very happy with whichever you choose.

I have the xdm in .45, and it has been a perfect gun. A pleasure to shoot, and accurate. I have not shot the P320, but I'm a big Sig fan and I've read nothing but good about that model.

If CC is a requirement (seems to be from your post) I think the xdm compact would work very well. Remember, with the Xtension mag you have 19 +1, in a very comfortable pistol, with the ability to change mags for a smaller, CC configuration.

If you want to consider full size, I'd add the HK VP9 to your list.

I sold my XDM 5.25 45ACP, mostly because if the Grip Size/Doublestack Magazine. It was a Very accurate firearm.

I acquired the Springfield XDS 4.0 in 45ACP, we are inseparable, I have Not had it on my hip 1 day, in the last nearly year I have had it. I did add Crimson Trace and Trijicon Sights.

Excellent firearm for me, and I would recommend to anyone. Special going on now at most Dealers, But and Springfield Pistol, get a coupon for Extra Magazine Carrying Belt looped, and 2 Extra (Above and beyond the ones that came with it) Magazines.
