My uncle wants to trade me his NIB Springfield XDm .40 cal for my Sig P250
.40 cal. I'm considering making the trade, I really like the way the XD feels in my hand but I also like my Sig. Any thoughts?

How old is the Sig. Even if its older you can get a new barrel for the Sig and be fine. Either way shoot 50-100 out of both and then decide...simple. You have the luxery of actually shooting both guns first, that should be crucial to your decision. Personally I think that XD is a real nice gun, but then again FBI and Marines like those Sigs.

Depends on why you got the P250. I own one too, also owned an XD, currently only have the 250.

I bought the 250 for two reasons: concealability, and DAO trigger. The XDm has neither. It's a full-size service pistol, and it uses a "USA" trigger which is like a glock in some respects. The SIG also has night sights, the XDM doesn't.

I had carried the XD (it was subcompact) and found marginally easier to conceal than the 250, but didn't feel safe keeping a round in the chamber, but with the SIG I do.

The accuracy of the XD to the SIG is equal, so the XDM might be slightly more accurate.

So it comes down to those two reasons I mentioned. Concealability and trigger. Those should be your two deciding points. Otherwise, both are solid pistols IMHO.

I just got the Sig the other day, I haven't even fired it. I have fired the XD before and liked it but I haven't shot the XDm. I was kind of pressured into getting the Sig from by brother. Don't get me wrong, I like the Sig and if it wasn't for my uncle wanting to trade me, I wouldn't of even considered it. The thing I like mostl about the XDm is the grip safety.

I have the p250. I chose it bc I really like the trigger over the XDm. There is a reason your uncle wants to swap you, the Sig is better.

What? Who said anything about concealment? You want him to base his decision off a factor that doesn't even apply to him. Those two factors are of importance to you, we don't know if he even wants to conceal anything. How about how well he shoots each gun? What about what he feels safest and most comfortable with? Those are of higher importance with any gun owner. Even yourself. Obviously you feel safer with that Sig safety. That's basically your whole reasoning. lol

the xdm 40 is an awesome gun and really fun to shoot. I can't wait to get 700 and go pick mine up
