I braved the black flies and went out to my backyard range today.. I put 50 down the pipe of my new P365XL and am very satisfied with the performance. It shot flawlessly and I was able to maintain a 3" grouping which I find satisfactory considering this is my first experience with a 9MM semi-auto.

The only drawback I had was with loading the magazines. I give most of it to inexperience but my old arthritic hands shoulder some of the blame. Calling on my Yankee ingenuity I made myself a little helper. I had a old wood spatula I had laying around that was waiting to be repurposed..took a piece of the handle and fashioned a primitive mag loader. Works great.

Needless to say I'm extremely happy with my P365XL's performance on her maiden voyage.

Do yourself a favor and buy the Uplula mag loading device; it is a GODSEND! I won't load a mag any longer without one except for my Ruger MKII that has a button on the side.

I have one coming..just impatient and wanted to get it out and shoot it.

Dont worry, the magazines are notorious for being hard to load early on. It will get better with time.

Your first range visit went great and that's always good news to hear! And with a mag loader you'll be well on your way to burning up more 9mm. with each trip to the range!

So how did things go with your wife's Kimber Micro .380? Did you have a chance to try it at the range?

Yes...she took her new Kimber out and did very well with it. Her adversity to black flies cut her range visit short. I shot a couple of rounds out of it...Nice little firearm.
