If you like a hammer-fired gun with a decocker, buy the SP2022. If you like a striker-fired gun with a grip safety, buy the XDm.
The standard SP2022 at $399 is probably the best pistol value available in the market today.
When the SigPro was introduced in 1998, most Sig aficionados dismissed it because it had a polymer frame (blasphemy). It was also a full-sized gun introduced during the height of the AWB's limit on magazine capacity and the SigPro suffered as did other full-sized guns introduced during that period. The SigPro was discontinued in the US, to be replaced by the DAO Sig P250. However, the SigPro prospered in Europe, garnering some of the biggest single-contract sales of any gun ... ever. Contract over-runs from Europe were brought to the US and sold like hotcakes and the SigPro was reinstated in the US product line.
The SigPro is a proven design that is over a decade old. The original SigPros had Swiss frames and American slides. The more recent SP2022 models have been all-German guns with triple proof marks, although the very latest guns may have American slides.
Yes, the SigPro is a real Sig. My Swiss-American SigPro 2009 has very high build quality, is as accurate as any Sig I have shot, and has a better trigger than any other Sig I have shot, including my P226ST which cost over twice as much as the SigPro.
