The Sig factory rep came out to our machine gun shoot this last weekend, and brought a table full of guns. I tried all of the models that I hadn't shot before.
Here are my opinions:
1. The X-5 is simply amazing to shoot. It shoots like a dream. 2 1/2 pound trigger, virtually no recoil, if I missed anything, it was my fault, not the guns. Within a couple of magazines, I was taking down plate racks almost as fast as I can with my standard 1911 (that has seen a lot of plate racks). This gun is sweet.
2. The Elite has the best factory double-action trigger I've ever used. The reset is very short. The beavertail feels really good. I shot the 220, and I believe a 229 version. Both very nice.
3. He didn't have a 556. So I'm not the only one still waiting.
4. The new melted down short framed 1911 (RCS? It looks like a C3 with a melt job) shoots extremely well for a small gun.
5. The new short gripped, ultra chopped down 220, shoots great. Picture a 220, and chop it down a bunch. Actually a pretty comfy little .45.
