Local Law Enforcement distributor has a boatload of 232s from an area Sheriff's Office. A few have very light surface rust on the outside of the barrel (I think this would be polished away very easily with a tad of Flitz)

He only wants 319 a piece for them and the triggers are like glass.

What do you guys think about picking this up as a vest gun?

i'd jump all over it...

i've been carrying mine in a galco ankle holster as of late... i don't know if it'd work with the heavier stainless gun though..

That's an outstanding price for a great gun. The P232 makes a good backup/vest piece due to its flatness and light weight, it packs a reasonable punch, and it's accurate and easy to shoot.

There are two versions of the P232SL...the one that's all-stainless steel, and the one that has a stainless slide on an alloy frame (two-tone). The latter one is the best of the P232s, offering the light weight of the alloy frame and the rust resistance of the stainless slide. The all-stainless SL is four ounces heavier (20 vs. 16 ounces), but softer in recoil.

Either way, I'd snap one up in a second for just over $300. It's a high-quality piece, well engineered and beautifully put together.

P2323

This is a great gun. Accurate, super reliable and beautifully designed/assembled.
