Sig Sauer P239 Carriers...Chime In

I am in need of a good IWB holster for my Sig Sauer P239. However, I have some requirements.

-I don't want to pay more than $50
-I don't want to wait more than a couple weeks to receive my holster
-I don't want it to fall apart

I do plan on ordering a really nice White Hat Holster someday, but what I need right now is a way to CARRY the gun. I am currently using a basic nylon pancake holster which works well when I wear a jacket, but it has been warming up and I need to have something hold it in closer underneath a T-shirt. I know, I sound like a whiner...lol.

What are you guys and gals using. If you have some pics that show how it rides, that would be awesome!
 
Try a High Noon Mr. Softy or a High Noon Upper Cut, or get one of each. If I recall correctly these are around $30.00 each and should be something that is stocked (i.e. shouldn't have more than a week or two lead time). High Noon makes great holsters without breaking the bank.
 
I won't or can't carry IWB. My daily wear is t-shirt and wranglers and we get HOT in this part of Texas. I resorted to wearing one of those sleeveless/neckless (there's a nickname for em but I won't use it) shirts under my t-shirt and carry my P239 in a Don Hume OT 721. Hugs high and tight, shields the weapon from the body and easy access. Hard to tell I'm carrying. DH's are well built holsters that last. Offered IMHO.
 
For IWB it's even more important to get a well made and properly fitting holster. DON'T get a one-size-fits-none type holster like Uncle Mikes. I suggest you save up for a good one. Anyway, Milt makes a pretty good one called the VersaMax.

Get a Bianchi 100 or a Desantis Sof-Tuck... they'll hold you over and both cinch-up pretty tight. I prefer the Bianchi.

You can put the gun anywhere, tipped at any angle. Like $25-40, depending on if you want a sweat sheild, ect.
 
I've used the Bianchi 100 with mine. The sweat guard is a huge selling point for me. It's also nice to just clip the holster in without having to adjust your belt. It will migrate on you, however, so it's not 100% secure. Still, it will conceal a lot better than anything nylon or generic.
 
I would try the Blade Tech Phantom series. $29.99 from the website. That puts it under $40 with shipping and I think they can get it to you in 10 business days or less...probably less.
 
I picked up a Galco Waistband for my Sig 239 when I wanted something thin, soft and easy to hide, with a thumb break. It works, but it's soft, so reholstering is a two-handed job. It's great for a quick grab-and-go holster but for daily carry I prefer something like the Versamax shown above, or a Supertuck.
I usually carry mine OWB in a Don Hume JIT slide.

But.... Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe is wonderful with my 239. I've been carrying for 8 years and have never felt as comfortable carrying IWB. Get a good gun belt too.

I am 175 lbs. and 5'8" and have a hard time carrying my P239 (.40) IWB. I got mine right after I got my carry license and I have settled on a Galco Summer Comfort when I do carry IWB. Compared to all handguns, it's small, but it's not IWB small for me. I carry it often with a Jit Slide and just love it that way. I have used this gun as my woods carry gun for years and love that I can have it on all day without even thinking about it (in the Jit Slide).

Around town in the summer, it's usually a pocket .380 for me. I read about people carrying full size pistols all day long but I just don't know how they do it and stay concealed and reasonably comfortable.

I think the P239 is a fantastic concealed carry gun. It's 100% reliable, heavy and strong enough for the .40, big enough to shoot accurately, however all of these traits make it a pain to have in my waistband. I'm not trying to discourage you from carrying it, I've just seen (and experienced) people spending half the cost of their handgun on holsters trying to find a way to carry something is too big when they could have spend that exact money on a smaller pistol... Kinda ironic.

Look for the bulk to be spread apart.... you don't want holster and clips piled on top of each other. You also want a high back so the hammer doesn't dig into your rolls.
 
I use an Alessi Talon. It's a IWB that uses a reinforced Kydex clip. I love this holster. My first one was for a S&W Model 65 and the Sig 239/Talon combo works even better.

It's a little above your price range (I think about $65?) but it's worth the extra cash. It also comes with a lifetime guarantee.

I use the Milt Sparks Versa Max II for my daily carry P239 SAS. It's a little pricey. D. M. Bullard makes a virtual copy of the VM2. I have one for my PPK. At the time, the wait was only 3-4 weeks, it's quite a bit longer now. No way would I use one of those one size fit all, nylon holster for a CCW. I know several people who swear by the Crossbreed Supertuck, but I have no personal experience with it. I agree that a good belt is very important. Make sure the loops on the holster are sized for the belt.
